We’ve been busy sharing lots of Christmas cheer this December, with the help of our amazing friends and supporters.
30 volunteers spent a total of 70 hours sorting and wrapping presents, which were then delivered to 415 refugee and asylum seeking children across Nottingham and the county. This was our biggest ever present drive, and we’re so grateful to every one who donated gifts, and gave their time to help out. It was a huge team effort, and the smiles on the faces of the children made it all worthwhile.
This year’s Christmas party was also a great success. Around 160 clients came along, the majority of them being children, and enjoyed a host of fun party games, arts and crafts, and gingerbread decoration. Father Christmas even found time to pop in and give out gifts to the children. Food was organised by our brilliant cafĂ© team, and our guests enjoyed beef stew, nut roast and classic roast dinner accompaniments.
A massive thank you to all the staff and volunteers who gave their time to support the evening including shopping trips, decorating the hall and Santa’s grotto, creating a big Rudolph (to stick the nose on!) crowd control and wrapping extra presents. It was a chaotic but joy filled evening.
