Initial Accommodation Outreach and Liaison Worker

As our Initial Accommodation Outreach and Liaison Worker, you will work closely with colleagues at Nottingham City Council to support asylum seekers placed in initial accommodation across Nottingham. You will provide casework support, advocacy, advice and referrals to clients to ensure they have the best outcomes and support while staying in temporary accommodation

You will consider the needs of clients including health and wellbeing as well as escalating safeguarding issues that arise.  You will also empower clients to navigate their circumstances with increased confidence and resilience and have better understanding of the asylum process and expectations around this.

We are looking for someone with a least one year’s recent experience of providing advice and support to refugees and asylum seekers, in a paid or voluntary capacity. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to confidently liaise and negotiate with external partners, in order to gain the best possible outcomes for your clients. 

Job Details

Salary: £24,926 per annum pro rata
Hours: Part time (15 per week)
Contract: Fixed Term for 6 months, an extension beyond this is subject to funding
